Summary:

The position of Worship Director of Weekend Experience for Pathway Community Church (PCC) plays a vital role in the daily operations of our ministry, but with special emphasis on the weekend services. This individual will work under the direction of the Executive Director of Weekend Experience and in collaboration with the Senior Pastor. The incumbent will provide high level decision-making for the church and is tasked with the responsibility of guiding and cultivating a communal environment that welcomes both the existing members of the congregation and newcomers in the Worship Center. The aim is to foster an atmosphere where everyone in the church can actively participate in our weekend services. As the Worship Director of Weekend Experience, this individual will create the vision, leadership, development, and direction for the Weekend team staff and volunteer teams.

This individual must love God and people and have a vital, growing relationship with Jesus Christ, demonstrating spiritual maturity and integrity by operating in the fruits of the Spirit. Must enthusiastically embrace the mission, values, vision, and goals of PCC. Must become a member of PCC and a role model. Exhibit the heart of a servant leader and demonstrate ability to develop leaders. Must possess strong organizational, communication, and time management skills and be results-driven, being capable of handling multiple tasks at any given time.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Tasks are outlined by general guidelines and require creativity and initiative to oversee the scope of creative support and various projects within. Minimal supervision or direction is given. Other duties may be assigned as deemed necessary by the supervisor. A listing of standard tasks anticipated include:

  • Oversee a God-honoring worship culture that is centered on transformation by the Holy Spirit

  • Under the direction of the Senior Pastor, create and execute strategy, ministry plan, calendar, and budget to support the Weekend Experience

  • Plan, collaborate, and lead the weekend worship experience in the Worship Center

  • Execute Weekend Experience department budget

  • Identify, pastor, coach, and equip lay leaders and volunteers, developing ministry teams to support broader mission

  • Develop collaborative relationships with other departments on their worship and music needs

Supervision:

This job has supervisory responsibility for the weekend worship department, including oversight and orchestration of volunteer ministry leaders and identifying outside talent.

  • Teamwork – Contributes to building a positive team spirit. Develops team atmosphere as department lead. Executes vision, values, direction and strategy in alignment with PCC overall mission and values. Encourage and engage lay persons.

  • Adaptability – Uses judgment and decision-making to adapt to problems and resolve situations as they occur. Often addresses problems unique and complex in nature. Establishes the policies and procedures used to solve problems.

  • Attendance/Punctuality – Is consistently at work and on time; ensures work responsibilities are covered when absent.

  • Dependability – Actions follow vision of church and direction of elder team.

  • Planning/Organizing – Sets direction of department and prioritizes outcomes to ensure greater good of and alignment with the organization’s vision. Establishes budgets and ensures financial success of department.

  • Quality – Demonstrates accuracy, thoroughness, and well-though out plans. Ensures creativity in high quality programming and curriculum design/selection.

  • Quantity  –  Prioritizes work and manages time in a way to achieve all objectives.

Education and/or Experience:

Successful completion of 4-year degree; 3-5 years related experience working in a large church setting, experience supervising and leading others, preferably in a church environment.
