UNRELENTING LOVE! WEEK 2: LOVE SAVES

UNRELENTING LOVE! WEEK 2: LOVE SAVES

March 14 & March 15, 2020

Leader Note: Remember your goal isn’t to get through every question but to have a good discussion where everyone participates. Your number one job as a small group leader is making space for the Holy Spirit to work.

Let’s Break the Ice:

When you were a child were you afraid the dark? What helped you sleep at night if you were scared?

Getting Started: Last week we talked about small steps we can take personally to visibly demonstrate love through the act of sharing. Did you try that out? What did you do?

One of the practical ways of sharing our faith with others that we are trying to start practicing as a church is B.L.E.S.S.

Begin with Prayer – ask God to show you where He is already working

Listen – listen to the Holy Spirit, and listen to the people around you

Eat – through eating, move relationships from acquaintance to friendship

Serve – serve the people God is calling you to bless

Story – as God gives you opportunities, share the story of Jesus

Who are the 1 or 2 people God is calling you to start B.L.E.S.S.ing?

  • Looking back at your notes from this week’s teaching, was there anything you heard for the first time or that caught your attention, challenged you or confused you?
  • What have you been learning in your personal study and God time?

Digging Deeper

Read the following passages of scripture together as a group. (Romans 3:23, Romans 6:23, Romans 5:12, John 3:19) What is the clear message of these verses? As no one is excluded in the descriptions given in these verses, what kind of tension does this stir up for you?

Think about these questions as you Read the following verses together as a group. (John 3:16, Hebrews 7:25, Romans 5:10) What do these verses say about God’s love for us despite the fact that the verses we read in the first section are true? How have you responded to the love of God that was described in these verses?

Taking it Home:

Read the following verses together as a group. (Psalm 103:12, Romans 8:1-2, John 12:46) How do you believe God is calling you to live differently because of the truth of these verses?

Prayer: How can we pray for each other as a group this week?
