Day 21: God’s Certain Presence

READ

REFLECT

Have you ever shopped on Amazon and seen the “suggested” items curated just for you based on your past purchases? While it is helpful, it also can be concerning that a company knows so much about our shopping habits. The upsetting reality is the chances are high there is more known about us than we realize. We fear our privacy being invaded for many reasons, but the top reason is that we are afraid someone will harm us in some way.

While the amount of information companies know about us can be concerning, God’s protection and knowledge of us is comforting. There is no one (no, not even Amazon) who knows us better than He does. Psalm 139:1-6 reveals His knowledge of us is more comprehensive than our knowledge of ourselves. He knows exactly how to comfort us and He knows exactly what we need in all seasons of life. His knowledge of us is perfect. He never has to “get to know us more” like another human being needs to do. Based on this encouraging truth, let’s move forward knowing God displays His certain presence in ways He knows are perfect for us.

RESPOND

Spend time in prayer, following the Upward, Inward, Outward, Upward format.

Upward: Who God is; What God has done, is doing, will do

Inward: Who you are; How you live

Outward: Intercession for others

Today’s Prayer:

Father, thank you for knowing me completely while also loving me completely. You know exactly what I need and when I need it. You are kind and gracious. I confess I often forget this. Help me remember these awesome truths and lean into your presence today.

Upward: Thanksgiving and Worship
