21 Days of Prayer: Day 6 (God Is Faithful)

Day 6

Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. – Lamentations 3:22-23

But the Lord is faithful, and he will strengthen you and protect you from the evil one. – 2 Thessalonians 3:3

God is Faithful

This last year has been full of many changes and challenges. We added another baby boy to our family, had a job change that came with a pay cut, and encountered adversity within our marriage. Though we know trials are a part of our earthly lives, it doesn’t make going through those trials any easier. Oftentimes, when we are in the thick of a harder season, it’s easy to lose perspective. It can be challenging to see the Lord’s hand at work, hear the Spirit’s voice clearly, or see the big picture of what the Lord is doing. But we can be certain when we trust the Lord for his provisions, guidance, and healing of our individual brokenness.

When we reflect on our past, the Lord never has never failed in showing us his faithfulness. Believe it or not, we can’t say we have it all figured out. We still have toddlers who test our patience, we still get anxious about finances, and we are still mending our brokenness within ourselves and our marriage. However, we can say that, through hardship, we have experienced growth that can only come from the power of our mighty God. So when any of us is in a season that feels hard or confusing, we can take delight in renewing our minds daily, fixing our eyes on where Christ has been present, and remember that God is good as He faithfully walks with us.

Prayer:

Lord, I love you and I know I can trust you today and any day going forward because you are faithful. You show your faithfulness to me by being my greatest friend, by caring for me, and by providing for my needs. Please forgive me when I question your goodness, complain, have a poor attitude, or become distracted. Give me a grateful heart and fresh eyes to see the ways you have been there for me and continue to be there for me in this hard and growing season.

Pray For Our Church: Take some time to pray for Pathway today—the people who make up our church, the staff, the ministries, etc. Ask God to work in and through us.

Pray For Our City: Pray for the people of our community and ask God to be at work in our hometown.

Pray For Our Nation: Pray for our nation—its people and its leaders. Boldly and specifically make your requests, then submit those desires to God’s will. Express your trust in Him.

Reflect:

  • How have you seen God’s faithfulness and his promises lived out today?
  • Write 2-3 points of gratitude and thank Jesus for these things.
  • Spend time praising God for who he is, what he has done, where he is at work, and what he has promised.
