Day 15: Strengthening Faith

SCRIPTURE

”Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.”

– Hebrews 11:1, NIV

“He replied, ‘Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, “Move from here to there,” and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.’”

– Matthew 17:20, NIV

“The LORD is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. I called to the LORD, who is worthy of praise, and I have been saved from my enemies.”

– Psalm 18:2-3, NIV

“The Lord is my light and my salvation—whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life—of whom shall I be afraid?”

– Psalm 27:1, NIV

“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand”

– Isaiah 41:10, NIV

In times of trouble, we should remember that we are not alone. Our faith is a source of strength, and our God is a refuge in the storm. The psalmist declared, “The Lord is my rock, my fortress, and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge” (Psalm 18:2). Troubles may seem insurmountable, but we must remember they are temporary and our God is eternal. Let us lean on Him, for His love and grace are unwavering. Let our faith be a light that guides us through the darkest moments, and let our hearts be filled with the assurance God is with us, even in the midst of trials.

PRAYER

Dear God,

In these challenging times, we humbly seek strength and guidance for our faith, recognizing that faith is the cornerstone of our relationship with you. We acknowledge that faith can be tested in the face of adversity, but we believe that through prayer and trust in you, our faith can be strengthened.

Hebrews 11:1 reminds us that faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance of what we do not see. We pray for unwavering faith, even in the midst of uncertainty and violence, for the wisdom to see your hand at work in all circumstances.

We also pray for the courage to surrender our worries to you, trusting in your perfect plan and divine timing. We ask for a deepening of our faith, like the mustard seed that can move mountains, even when circumstances seem incomprehensible. May your strength sustain us, and may our faith shine brightly in the darkest of times. For we know in the end, through you, victory is assured.

Lord, we ask that our faith remains steadfast and unshakable, knowing that you, God, are in control. So, in the midst of this global turmoil and conflict such as in Israel, Gaza, Ukraine and other parts of the world, we turn to you—our source of strength and peace. Our hearts are heavy and burdened by the suffering of innocent people caught in the crossfire, such as the families who have lost loved ones, those held hostage in Gaza, the displaced and the wounded, that they may find comfort and strength in their faith. We trust in your promise in Psalm 34:18 to be close to the brokenhearted. It is in these moments we need our faith to be unwavering, like the rock upon which we stand. Help the leaders and decision-makers to seek peaceful resolutions and reconciliation, guided by your wisdom, as peacemakers mentioned in Matthew 5:9.

Thank you, Lord for the gift of faith, and we pray for its increase and strengthening. It is through faith we can connect with you, experience your love, and find hope and peace to face these challenging times with unwavering trust in you.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.
