Thrive Thought: How to Avoid Financial Crisis (Part 1)

How to Avoid Financial Crisis: Part 1

God Owns Everything

An important biblical principle that can help us with our money management is the basic truth that God owns everything in our possession. This understanding of God’s complete authority over what we have worked so hard to earn can be difficult for us to swallow. Certainly, our arrogance and our failure to willingly subject ourselves to God’s loving care, in obedience to His will, is the reason we make money mistakes that plunge us into a deep financial quagmire. God’s provision for us is a call to action as trustees of what he bestows to us, not as partners in ownership. God will help us if we humble ourselves and seek His face in all our circumstances.

To change our financial circumstances, whether we are in crisis now or just seeking to protect and multiply God’s money, we must begin to apply biblical financial principles of money management to our resources. These principles will protect us and our families from potential financial hazards. God’s Word never fails.
