DAY 18: GOD’S PRESENCE IN ALL SEASONS
READ
Genesis 8:22; James 1:17-19
REFLECT
While the degrees of the seasons may differ from place to place, the seasons are generally consistent every year. We know it is colder in the winter than in the summer, that spring is warmer than the winter, etc. Yet even more certain than the seasons is our God. James 1:17-19 reveals that He does not change who He is. He is certain. We can depend on Him to have the same character today as He did yesterday. In every season of our lives, He remains the same.
RESPOND
Spend time in prayer, following the Upward, Inward, Outward, Upward format.
Upward: Who God is; What God has done, is doing, will do
Inward: Who you are; How you live
Outward: Intercession for others
Today’s Prayer:
God, thank you for your never-changing character that is my certainty and my anchor in every season of my life. I confess my mood—and, yes, even my character—change from time to time. Thank you for not giving up on me and for reminding me of your presence. I can depend on you.
Upward: Thanksgiving and Worship
