Why We Give

“We love each other because he loved us first.” 1 John 4:19, NLT

When we give back a portion of what God has given to us, we celebrate Jesus’ work in our lives, we reflect his love and generosity to the world, and we help those in need.

At the end of every year, we as a church look for ways to be generous both inside and outside of Pathway's walls. In the month of December, a portion of our giving will support specific ministries Here, Near, and Far. (Scroll for details about these ministries.) On Giving Tuesday (December 2) and Christmas services on December 23+24, our gifts will go exclusively to our NEAR and FAR partnerships.

We are grateful for the ways our church gets to come alongside these ministries, and we get to do that because of the ways you give. Thank you!

Where Our Year-End Giving Goes

Our year-end generosity goal this year focuses on serving the vulnerable and the next generation.

Our 2025 Goal:  $250,000

Our top two priorities this year are our FAR partnerships:

+ Compassion Mother and Infant Survival Program

+ Mission of Hope Meal-Packing Event

“So two good things will result from this ministry of giving—the needs of the believers… will be met, and they will joyfully express their thanks to God.”
2 Corinthians 9:12, NLT

Learn More About Charitable IRA Rollover
Rolling over part of your Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) to Pathway can help reduce your tax bill while supporting your church. If you are 70½ or older, any portion of your RMD can be used to make a gift of up to $100,000 this year from your IRA to help further PCC’s mission.

Making an IRA rollover gift is easier than ever.

• Contact your IRA administrator. With the popularity of the IRA rollover, most administrators provide forms and a procedure to help you make a rollover gift.

• You can direct a transfer of up to $100,000 to be made this year from your IRA to a qualified charity.

• You will pay no income taxes on the amount transferred.

Note: Because you are not claiming the transferred amount as income, you will not receive an income tax deduction for your gift.

What's a qualified charitable distribution (QCD)?
Starting at age 70½, a QCD is a direct transfer of money from your IRA provider, payable to a qualified charity. QCDs can be counted toward satisfying your required minimum distributions (RMDs) for the year, as long as certain rules are met.

What are some rules for donating?
Age: You must be 70½ or older to donate a QCD.

Contribution limit: The most an individual can donate in a calendar year, across all charities, is $108,000. If you file taxes jointly, your spouse can donate up to $108,000 from their IRA as well.

Eligible accounts: QCDs can be made from most IRAs, including:

+ Traditional IRAs
+ Rollover IRAs
+ Inherited IRAs
+ SEP IRAs (inactive plans only)
+ SIMPLE IRAs (inactive plans only)*
+ Under certain circumstances, Roth IRAs
