Summary:

The position of KidCity Associate Director of Leadership Development for Pathway Community Church plays a vital role in giving every child an incredible leader. This individual will offer pastoral leadership to the entire KidCity volunteer community, overseeing and guiding all facets of volunteer engagement and leadership development within KidCity.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Duties are guided by broad objectives, requiring independent judgment, creativity, and initiative to shape the direction and scope of this particular area within the KidCity department. Other duties may be assigned as deemed necessary by the supervisor. A listing of standard tasks anticipated include:

  • Implement the Leadership Development strategy for Pathway (Encourage, Train, Coach) throughout KidCity, partnering with the KidCity staff team, to equip and empower KidCity volunteers for a life of spiritual influence
  • Develop and implement processes and initiatives to regularly encourage leaders: celebrate leaders corporately, convey gratitude intentionally, and affirm leaders personally; Maintain relationships with volunteers
  • Intentionally focus on leaders’ spiritual development, conveying the value of personally pursuing Jesus
  • Enhance and participate in pre-service team huddles, casting vision and clarifying wins
  • Develop consistent processes for receiving feedback from leaders and volunteers; Incorporate feedback into team huddles as well as one-on-one follow-up conversations
  • Continually recruit leaders through encounters in weekend services, Intro, volunteer initiatives at PCC, life groups, student ministry
  • Coordinate with PCC Communications department to effectively engage the PCC body with volunteering opportunities in KidCity
  • Follow up with the Serve Interest – KidCity Group in ChurchTeams
  • Lead “KidCity In-Action” interest meeting for potential volunteers at weekend services
  • Oversee KidCity volunteer application and onboarding process, ensuring references and background checks for new KidCity volunteer applications are completed
  • Oversee KidCity support staff, guest services, security, and path patrol for weekend services.
  • Collaborate with the department to write, update, and maintain policies and procedures to ensure the safety and security of KidCity and to make sure the ministry is operating efficiently and effectively.
  • Support full church ministry programs, performing weddings and funerals, serve with our Staff on Call rotation, and other congregational spiritual outreach
  • Work with the Security Director to maintain safety and security measures within KidCity.
  • Collaborate with KidCity Coordinators to assist in maintaining a full schedule of volunteers.

Supervision:

This position supervises all PT3 support staff.

  • Planning/Organizing – Assists with setting the direction of team within the KidCity department and prioritizes outcomes to ensure greater good of and alignment with the organization’s vision.

Education and/or Experience:

Successful completion of post high school education with a Bachelor’s degree in Children’s Ministry or equivalent; 3-5 years-experience preferred working in church or related environment.
