BEFORE WE BEGIN
When something important is ahead of us, it can be easy to jump straight to action. We make plans. We ask ourselves, “What should we do?”
Before we start moving, let’s start by seeking God.
As we enter this season of Unlimited, we want to begin with 21 Days of Prayer and Fasting—slowing down, listening to God, and rooting ourselves in his purposes, his people, and his provision.
Prayer is more than bringing our requests to God. It's time spent in his presence—talking with him, listening to him, and allowing him to work in us. Rather than seeking something from God, we come seeking more of God.
Fasting helps us make space for deeper intimacy with Jesus. When we set aside something we regularly enjoy—whether food, social media, entertainment, or something else—we quiet some of the noise and intentionally turn our attention toward God.
Over these 21 Days, we'll read Scripture, pray together, hear from people here at Pathway and some of our mission partners. Our hope is that God will shape our hearts, help us see where he is at work, and show us how he is inviting us to be part of it.
As we prepare for this time of prayer and fasting, let’s take some time to ask God:
Take some time over the next few days to sit with these questions. Ask God to help you prepare your heart for the 21 Days ahead.
Want some additional encouragement as you prepare? Listen to this conversation with Annie F. Downs, Kevin Queen, and Dave Clayton about extended prayer and fasting. Listen to the podcast.

As we prepare for this time of prayer and fasting, let’s take some time to ask God:
- God, what could I set aside to create more space for you?
- How could I intentionally use that space to seek you?
- Is there anything in my heart keeping me from being open to what you want to do in me?
