Connection Communities grew out of our desire to help people be known and to move into deeper community at Pathway. We know that it can be tough in a large weekend service to meet other people and get connected to Pathway, so these groups help make our big church feel smaller!
Our Worship Center is divided into four sections of chairs. The Saturday night service has two Connection Communities, each of the Sunday services has four, and the 9AM and 11AM services in The Venue have their own Connection Communities. Every section has a Section Leader, who would love to meet you and answer any questions you might have.
Connection Community Carry-ins are quarterly events where you can get to know some of the people who worship around you every week. When it’s your section’s weekend, simply meet us in The Gathering (downstairs at the back of the cafe lobby) for a carry-in meal (entree provided) and hangout time after the service. Bring the whole family!
Connection Community Quick Connects are exactly what they sound like. On your section’s weekend, take a few minutes to grab a snack and enjoy a bit of conversation with people from your community. Our hope is that you’ll meet someone new or to keep up with friends in between your Connection Community Carry-ins. Pop over to the back of the cafe lobby after the service, and enjoy a few minutes with some great people. It’s FREE, and your whole family is invited.
Connection Community Game Nights get you engaged with your people outside of the weekends at Pathway. Check the events page to find out when your section will be having a laid-back evening of fun and games at PCC.
When facing the stage, sections are:
There isn’t a formal process! Just sit wherever you’d like and feel free to introduce yourself to the section leader and team members. The section leaders and team members will be wearing lanyards that coordinate with the color of your section. (Section colors in the worship center are marked by red, blue, green, or orange chair-bands on the aisle seats. The Venue communities at 9am and 11am are our gold sections.) You’ll also find a Connection Card with more information in one of the seat-back pockets near you. If you’d rather sit somewhere else, you don’t have to “leave” your current section and “sign up” for the new section.
Your section leaders and team members are eager to talk to you. They want to get to know you and help answers any questions you may have. You can take advantage of the time before and after service to get to know those sitting around you. We want you to get to know the other people in your section and begin developing meaningful relationships with them. Each sections will also have a quarterly carry-in right after the service to provide another opportunity for people to interact and develop deeper relationships. And between carry-ins, there are some scheduled “Quick-Connect” opportunities after the services, as well as occasional Game Nights.
People will get to know the real you and love you wholeheartedly. You will develop real relationships with depth & meaning. Your section will help you stay on track and keep your faith growing. When you’re in need your section will support, encourage, & pray with you. You will find your place at Pathway Community Church and never feel lost in the crowd.
You don’t have to be! Sections are not forced community. We believe in the power of community and want our whole church to be a part of it, but you can choose the level of your involvement in the section you sit in.
Our Connection Community leaders are ready to have a conversation with you! Go ahead, ask them anything. They’re eager to help you take your next step at Pathway.
