Feed a local family in need

COVID-19 has impacted our world and our community in many ways. We can help meet a very basic need during this time by sharing food with our neighbors who are faced with challenging circumstances. The Pathway family is participating in a community-wide initiative to provide boxes of non-perishable food to those in need. We have partnered with J29Hope, Fort Wayne UNITED’s Ten Point Coalition, and other local organizations and churches to collect and distribute food to the Weisser Park, Oxford, Villages of Hanna communities, and others.

2 WAYS TO PARTICIPATE:

1. Fill a Box

Pick up a box from Pathway. These are available at the north entrance of the church (under the overhang) now through July 16.

Fill the box with the items on the grocery list that is included with the box. Please check expiration dates!

Add a note of encouragement or favorite bible verse to inspire the recipient and let them know they are loved.

Return the box to Pathway by July 16 (at the trailer parked by the north entrance of the church) between the hours of 8am-5pm. Please tape the box closed.

2. Assemble Bags / Distribute Boxes

Once we’ve collected the food, it will be time to get it to the people who need it most! You can sign up to be part of this community outreach in two ways:

Assemble Toiletry Bags. On Wednesdays, July 8 and 15, we will meet at Weisser Park Elementary at 4PM to assemble toiletry bags that will be distributed along with the food boxes. This will take approximately one hour and is an indoor serving opportunity. We request that volunteers be 1st grade or older.

Distribute Boxes. On Thursdays, July 9 and 16, we will be back at Weisser Park Elementary to distribute the boxes and toiletries. This is an outdoor serving opportunity and we request volunteers be 6th grade or older. We will arrive at 3:30PM and may serve until 8:30PM (depending on the number of boxes that have been donated and how quickly these are depleted).
