Connection Communities grew out of our desire to help people be known and to move into deeper community at Pathway. A Connection Community is people who connect weekly by sitting in the same section of the Worship Center or in The Venue. We know that it can be tough in a large weekend service to meet other people and get connected to Pathway, so these groups help make our big church feel smaller!

When you enter our Worship Center for the first time you will notice four divided sections of chairs. The Saturday night service has two Connection Communities, the Sunday services each have four, and the 9AM and 11AM services in The Venue each have their own Connection Communities. Every section of chairs has a Section Leader, who might greet you, will make you feel right at home, and answer any questions you might have. That will be your initial experience but there is so much more that makes Connection Communities our intentional strategy to help people connect at Pathway on the weekends.

Upcoming Section Parties

Connection Community Carry-ins are one way to get to know some of the people who worship around you every week. Check the list of upcoming dates to find out when your section’s party will be. Then simply meet us in The Gathering (downstairs at the back of the cafe lobby) for a carry-in meal (entree provided) and hangout time after the service. Bring the whole family!

Connection Community FAQ

HOW DO I JOIN A CONNECTION COMMUNITY?

There isn’t a formal process! Just sit wherever you’d like and introduce yourself to the section leader and team members. You’ll find a picture of your section leader on the card that awaits you on your seat. The section leaders and team members will be wearing lanyards that coordinate with the color on the card. If you’d rather sit somewhere else, you don’t have to “leave” your current section and “sign up” for the new section.

HOW DO I GET TO KNOW THOSE IN MY COMMUNITY?

Your section leaders and team members are eager to talk to you. They want to get to know you and help answers any questions you may have. You can take advantage of the time before and after service to get to know those sitting around you. We want you to get to know the other people in your section and begin developing meaningful relationships with them. Each sections will also have a quarterly party right after the service to provide another opportunity for people to interact and develop deeper relationships.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF BEING PART OF MY CONNECTION COMMUNITY?

People will get to know the real you and love you wholeheartedly. You will develop real relationships with depth & meaning. Your section will help you stay on track and keep your faith growing. When you’re in need your section will support, encourage, & pray with you. You will find your place at Pathway Community Church and never feel lost in the crowd.

WHAT IF I DON’T WANT TO BE INVOLVED IN SECTIONS?

You don’t have to be! Sections are not forced community. We believe in the power of community and want our whole church to be a part of it, but you can choose the level of your involvement in the section you sit in.
