THRIVE THOUGHT
The Freedom of Living Debt-Free
In my 20s, I felt really good about my financial situation because I paid off my credit card bills every month, and I knew that my friends were not always able to do the same.
Now, I should state for the record, I had debt. I had a loan for a car I never should have financed. I also had college debt. Debt was slowly eating me.
I felt its weight around my neck every month, especially when our car had issues and we had to shell out money for repairs and the monthly payment.
I felt guilty every time my alma mater would call me and ask for money. I gave them four years and took loans to graduate, why did they need more of my money?
When my wife and I first went through Financial Peace University, we saw a path to get out of debt and stay out of debt for the rest of our lives! In less than a year, we paid off our car loan and my school debt.
We have purchased many cars since then with no loans. I went back to school and paid cash for my master’s degree.
All because we got out of debt and made a decision to stay out of debt.
Are you ready to get out of debt? Our next Financial Peace University class starts October 1. It’s only five weeks, and if you attend every week, we'll refund the cost of the class (and KidCare).
Join us, get out of debt, and begin living with the freedom to stay out of debt!
Brian Beall is one of the pastors at Pathway. He and his wife, Sheri, are leading their children to wisely manage their income, so that they can thrive as adults.
