DAY 6: GOD’S GENEROSITY CHANGES OUR DESTINY
READ
Romans 8:31-32; Psalm 31:15-24
REFLECT
Now that the nation has opened back up after the pandemic, an increasing number of grocery stores are going back to offering samples of food while we shop. For many, this is good news! But samples are just that—samples. They certainly are not full course meals. The purpose of these samples is to get you to buy more of what you just sampled. In short, the underlying message is “If you liked this sample, you’re going to love the whole box.” There is more to come! Samples are like appetizers at restaurant. They are literally a taste of what is to come.
In the same way, Jesus is a gift of what is to come. In other words, God’s generous gift of Jesus shows us how generous He is. If He is that generous with His best gift, how much more will He be with lesser gifts? There is always more to come when you place your future in God’s hands!
RESPOND
Spend time in prayer, following the Upward, Inward, Outward, Upward format.
Upward: Who God is; What God has done, is doing, will do
Inward: Who you are; How you live
Outward: Intercession for others
Today’s Prayer:
“God, thank you changing my future destiny by sending Jesus to die and rise again. Help me to see your generosity in this great gift. Show me how I can use the gift of Jesus as a reminder that you will continue to provide me with every gift I need to follow you.”
Upward: Thanksgiving and Worship
