BEYOND ALL DOUBT: Week 2

Beyond All Doubt: Substitute
March 2 & 3 2019
Ron Williams

Icebreaker Question: What is the strangest thing you have ever had to substitute for something else?

  • What challenged you, confused you, or changed you during the weekend’s message?
  • Read Mark 10:45. Even though Jesus is God & King of the world, He came to give his life for the sake of humanity. Where are you on this spectrum…”I find my identity in the new life I have in Christ,” “I struggle to believe it,” “I rarely think about it?” What fruits in your life, good or bad, illustrate your answer?
  • Read 1 John 5:10-12. At Pathway, we seek to live out John 10:10 – to lead others into a full life found in Jesus Christ. What does it mean “to have life”? When you think of someone who you believe to have a full life found in Jesus Christ, what differentiates their life?

Life at Home Question:

[Leader: you may want to split up by gender to answer the last few questions.]

Read 1 John 1:8-9. Jesus died for all of your sins – past, present, & future, but he also calls us to repent of our sins. Pastor Ron defined repentance as turning away from our sins & towards Jesus Christ, intending to not commit the same sin again. What sin has been the hardest for you to repent of? Is there a current sin that you are struggling to repent of? How can we as a small group come alongside you?

Read Hebrews 12:2. In what ways do you need to fix your eyes on Jesus? How can you put that into practice that this week?
